Like that wasn’t enough, an additional 4 million caught the episode on streaming channels.
This is a remarkable improvement considering the fact that the seven-episode season started off with 10.1 million viewers, while episode 5 drew 10.7 million.This season Game of Thrones has regularly ranked as the second-most-viewed series each week among all programs. Meanwhile, it wasn’t just the GOT season 7 finale that broke viewership records. The hackers went on to demand an eye-popping ransom from the network. The group which claims to have stolen 1.5 terabytes of HBO shows and confidential corporate data threatened to upload the entire series and sensitive data if the demand is not met.
Nevertheless, GOT emerged victorious and smashed all kinds of viewership records on TV and online. Its eighth and final season is scheduled to air next year.
