Here is the timeline of the sibling rivalry between Peter and Paul Okoye since 2014.
The bond between twins they say, is unbreakable, even more solid when they are identical.
Well, it seems since 2014, that solid bond between Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye (Psquare) has been tested frequently.
The brothers over their long career have fallen out on three different occasions which have been public and nasty.
April 2014 – Psquare manager, Jude Okoye breaks the bombshell that all is not well with the Psquare brand. This came as a shock to Nigerians who thought the brothers were inseparable. According to reports, lawyers were getting ready to split the Psquare assets between Peter and Paul Okoye.
Later that month, both Peter and Paul Okoye showed up publicly for the first time since the fight at Sarah Ofili’s birthday. This public appearance was a signal to the industry that cooler heads had prevailed and they were back in business.
Peter Okoye who has been the more outgoing of the duo goes ahead to sign solo endorsement deals with Olympic Milk and Adidas.
February 2016 – The drama between the brothers rears its ugly head again. Peter Okoye goes bizarre on Twitter over the alleged faulty business structure of Psquare as a brand.
On February 16, 2016, Peter Okoye claims that he is no longer interested in the family business. He insists that their elder brother and manager, Jude must be eased out as their manager.
In the same month Paul Okoye pledges his allegiance to Jude Okoye. Peter Okoye’s wife Lola Okoye, is accused of being the trouble between the two talented brothers.
March 2016 – The drama intensifies as Peter and Paul release solo singles. It is now evident that the brothers are more than considering solo careers. Paul Okoye releases ‘Call heaven’ while Peter dropped ‘All eyes’. Fans are not happy and plead for the brothers to come back.
Later in the month, the brothers resolve differences and announce that they are back as a group. The three brothers, Jude, Peter, and Paul announce that they are back and are coming out stronger. They also apologize to their fans.
September 2017 – And we are back here again. A year and some few months later, the Okoye brothers are back with rumours of a split. Just when we thought all was well in the Okoye household, drama begins to unfold.
