It Is Not A Crime For Children To Hawk Goods On The Streets – Says Unilorin Deputy Bursar, Oba


The Deputy Bursar of the University of Ilorin, Oba has declared Street hawking is not necessarily a crime especially when the children are not meant to be in school.
Oba, stated this at the 9th Muktar Isale-Koto Annual Islamic Lecture held in the university on Tuesday.
According to the deputy bursar, it was possible for a family to experience recession while the country is growing, hence, the need for the children to help the family provide income.
He stated;
“I and members of my age group in those days hawked to augment the family income while we were children, yet many of us turned out successful professionals.”
