Today I will show you how to make pumpkin porridge. This meal is easy to prepare and can be taken as lunch or dinner.Preparation time: 40-45 minutes
Ingredients for pumpkin porridge (Serves four)
  • ¼ of a whole Pumpkin ( peeled and cut)
  • Palm oil (for frying)
  • Blended pepper
  • Pumpkin leaves
  • Pomo
  • Crayfish
  • One onion
  • Seasoning
  • Salt to taste
Directions
Wash the pomo properly with clean water and an iron sponge to get rid of all the dirt.
Cut the washed pomo into little pieces and place it in a pot with seasoning, allow it to boil for 15 minutes.
Wash the pumpkin leaves (ugu) properly with water to remove all the dirt and sieve out all the particles.
In an empty pot, add two spoons of palm oil and allow it to bleach for five minutes. Cover the pot to reduce the smoky smell.
Add three spoons of blended pepper to the pot and fry it with the palm oil for another five minutes. Stir to avoid burning.
Add the pumpkin leaves to the pot and add a cup of water. Leave it to cook for 5 minutes.
Add the pomo into the pot and stir continuously.
Add in the onion and stir.
Peel, wash and cut the pumpkin into even cubes and add it to the pot.
Mix the pumpkin with all the other ingredients in the pot.Add water and a spoon of crayfish to the pot and cook it for 10 – 15 minutes or until the pumpkin is soft and fully cooked.

Serve and enjoy.
